Up to $10,000 a month in free Google ads for your nonprofit. We get you approved and running, then keep it running.

Google Ad Grants pays for ads in Google search results for eligible nonprofits, but most small groups never claim it because it sounds confusing and nobody has the time. We do the work for $99 a month, and the first month is free, so you see results before you pay the monthly fee.

What the ads look like

These are text ads that show up in Google search results when someone searches for something related to what you do, like "volunteer animal shelter near me" or "donate to animal rescue." They are not Facebook, Instagram, banner or video ads.

Each ad is a short headline, a line or two of text, and a link to your site. It looks like a regular search result with a small "Sponsored" label.

Why it goes unused

Most groups never set it up

We checked 200 small nonprofits using public data. Of the ones we could check, more than 9 in 10 showed no sign of using the grant well, and most showed no sign of ever setting it up.

It sounds confusing

You apply through Google for Nonprofits, add tracking to your site, build campaigns and follow strict rules. It's a lot to learn for one line item, and nobody on a small team has spare hours for it.

Unused credit is gone

The grant is credit for Google search ads only. Whatever you don't use in a month doesn't roll over, and it can't be spent on anything else.

How it works

  1. Free check

We look at your public IRS listing and your website and tell you if you look like a fit. Google makes the final call, so we can't promise approval.

  2. We get you approved

Only your organization can apply through Google for Nonprofits, so we send you step-by-step instructions and answer questions until you're through.

  3. You link your account to us

You accept a link request from our manager account. It takes a couple of minutes. The account stays yours, you can remove us anytime, and we never need your password.

  4. We write the ads from your website

These are short text ads that show up in Google search results when people search for what you do. You don't need pictures, slogans or ad experience. You tell us your top 2 or 3 goals, the area you serve and anything to avoid, and we write the rest from your site. You see the ads before anything goes live.

  5. We keep it running

We check the account every day, fix what drags it down and keep it inside Google's rules, so it doesn't get switched off.

  6. A plain report each month

One page your director can hand to the board: how many people clicked, what they did on your site (donations, sign-ups, adoptions), what we changed, and how much free ad credit you used.

Does it pay for itself?

We think it should, but you should be able to check that yourself. Google pays for the ads. You only pay us for the work, so the question is whether the ads bring in more than our fee.

Example only, not a real client

Say the ads bring in two new monthly donors at $50 a month each. That's $100 a month, which covers our $99 fee. Anything past that, like a few new volunteers or event sign-ups, is extra. There's also a one-time $249 setup fee, which we only charge if Google approves your application.

We can't promise results. Some causes get more searches than others, and some months are slow. That's why the first month is free, you can cancel anytime, and every monthly report shows what came in from the ads so you and your board can decide if it's worth it.

$249 one-time setup, charged only if Google approves your Ad Grants application. If Google says no, you pay nothing.

First month free for every client. The free month starts when your ads go live, not when you sign up.

The ads themselves are paid for by Google through the grant. You only pay us for the work.

Questions

Is it worth $99 a month for a group our size?

That depends on what the ads bring in, which is why the first month is free. As a rough guide, one or two new monthly donors, or a few volunteers or event sign-ups, would cover it. There's also a one-time $249 setup fee. We only charge it if Google approves your application. If Google says no, or you cancel before Google decides, you pay nothing. Your monthly report shows exactly what came from the ads, so you can decide with real numbers.

Where do the ads show up?

In Google search results, when people search for things related to your work, and only in the area you serve. They don't show on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube or other websites.

Do we need to send pictures or slogans?

No. The grant only covers Google search ads, which are short text ads. We write them from your website. You just tell us your goals, your area and anything to avoid, and you see the ads before they go live.

Who owns the Google Ads account?

You do. The account belongs to your nonprofit. We link to it from our manager account so we can do the work, and you can remove that link anytime from your own account settings.

What do you need from us?

A short intake form (your top goals, the area you serve, anything to avoid), about two minutes to accept our link request, and help adding a tracking tag to your website so Google can count sign-ups and donations. We send exact steps for that, or your web person can do it. We also help you get the grant approved first.

Can I show the report to my board?

Yes, that's who it's written for. It's one page in plain English, with no ad jargon: what people did on your site because of the ads, what we changed, and how much free credit you used.

When do you charge my card?

You add a card on a secure Stripe page when you sign up. We save it, but we don't charge it that day. We charge the $249 setup fee only after Google approves your Ad Grants application. If Google says no, we delete your card and you owe nothing. The $99 a month starts once your ads are live, and the first month is free.

Can I cancel?

Yes, anytime, by email. If you cancel before Google decides on your application, you owe nothing, even if we've already started, and we delete your card. After that, canceling stops the next monthly charge, including during the free month. You keep the account and everything in it. Nothing is locked to us.

What's the 5% click rate rule?

Google requires grant accounts to keep at least 5% of people who see an ad clicking it, measured across the whole account each month. Two months in a row under 5% and Google can switch the account off until it's fixed. We check this every day and pause ads and keywords that drag it down.

What's the yearly survey?

Google sends grant accounts a program survey from time to time, and answering it is required to stay in the program. Only your organization can fill it out. We'll remind you when it's due.

Do you guarantee approval or results?

No. Google decides who gets the grant and can change its rules. We can't promise donations or sign-ups either. What we can promise is that the work gets done and you see exactly what we did each month.

Who is eligible?

Generally, US 501(c)(3) charities in good standing with a working website. Google excludes government entities, hospitals and health care groups, and schools and universities. We also don't take on military-affiliated organizations.

Will you call us?

We work by email so we can keep the price low. If something really needs a call, we can set one up.
